Survey Shows Rise in Sexual Activity in High Schools

The rates of sexuality activity among U.S. high school students rose this year, according to a new study released Wednesday by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Nearly half of all high school students have reportedly had sex, even as condom and contraceptive use is declining, the study noted.

Although the rates of sexual activity represented a decrease from its record high of 54 percent in 1991, the new results suggest a new upward trend among students.

The study found an increase in sexual activity among Hispanic students and a decrease among white and black students.

Furthermore, the number of students who reported to have had more than four sexual partners declined from its 1991 high of 19 percent to just 15 percent this year, according to the study.

The survey, which is conducted every two years and seeks to gauge the frequency of a wide range of risky behaviors among youth, also revealed that nearly 75 percent of students have tried alcohol and that 20 percent of students smoke.

Over 14,000 high school students from across the nation participated in the survey.

    Not only are they having more sex, but kids are starting younger as well.

    Statistics here in Singapore show that some girls have started having sex at the age of 12, with some even going for abortions at that age!

    WoW Brother Isaiah that's some stats!!! what I also think is responsible for the recent rise is that parents/guardians are so busy with so much stuff that they can't really manage everything anymore in their daily routines.

    Imagine having an abortion at that age not that at any age it's ok but it would sacr that Child for life cos abortion is a guilt that stays with the person for life only Jesus can wash away that feeling of unworthiness

    I strongely agree with COH about parents busy doing stuff. This situation will get worse, cos Christ Jesus the model of Life has been taken away from schools. Our children have been offered to media houses for custody, film, internet, t.v and magazines are there.Every parent should train the child the way they should grow and they will not depart from it.

I never knew I would write any article on Todd Bentley, because I deliberately avoided the topic while it was raging all over, even though my husband was very vocal against him and his group then, he is even telling me right now that he is not surprised about this piece of news . The Miracle Of Prayer

by David J. Stewart I t is disturbing to find so many people that fail to believe God answers prayer. Several top “authors” and so-called “professionals” being interviewed on TV lately, have claimed that prayer is a great therapy (as an end in itself). You never hear them mention God. It is sad that prayer has been diminished to the status of going to the park to watch the birds. Prayer is not effective because it is a good therapy. Prayer is effective because there is an omnipotent (all powerful) God up in heaven that hears and answers prayer !  I am leery of bumper sticker theology.  I see bumper stickers promoting about the "Power of Prayer," but prayer is nothing without a Powerful Divine God.  I believe in the "Power of God." Answered prayer can only happen by a miracle of God.
