"Most Peculiar"

A Post From Fishhawk's Blog Asthecrackerheadcrumbles Now therefore, if you will obey My voice in truth and keep My covenant, then you shall be My own peculiar possession and treasure from among and above all peoples; for the earth is Mine. {Exodus 19:5 AMP} By definition, according to [Merriam-Webster’s Online Dictionary] , peculiar means: (1) characteristic of only one person, group, or thing: distinctive (2) different from the usual or normal, a: special, particular b: odd, curious c: eccentric, queer. Personally, I would add different to the list. In fact, strange or weird makes even more sense to me. For this is what I feel like when I try to explain the kind of relationship that I have had with our Heavenly Father since He became real to me in 1993, and from the reactions that I have received, I do not believe that many would disagree with the assertion that I truly am most peculiar in a very strange and weird kind of way (at best). I don...

The Pursuit of God

Image
This article caught my attention and am going to try and read this book " The Pursuit of God" by AW Tozer , I love the quotes by this great man of God and am equally going to try and read up more on him but for now you might want read this post by Mark Earley . . .  it is really a great read. Possessing Nothing to Possess All The Pursuit of God' By Mark Earley Christian Post Guest Columnist  Fri, July. 11 2008 06:54 PM EDT 1948 was the year the “Big Bang” theory was introduced, the game “Scrabble” was first played, and state of Israel was established. It was also the year that A. W. Tozer wrote The Pursuit of God—a small book, but one that has profoundly influenced Christians for the past 60 years. It has challenged me, and I hope this summer you give it a chance to challenge you. Ken Boa, who features The Pursuit of God this month in his tremendous “Great Books Audio CD” series, says that Tozer was “a modern mystic who had given priority to the lost art of me...

My Testimony III

My Walk With Christ Following Christ has been a reality for me, my goal is to make heaven and to make sure that others around me do so too through the Grace of Christ Jesus my Lord.  this passage I live by, without it I don't know what would have become of my faith in Christ today. Isaiah 49: 8-11,8  Thus saith the Lord, In an acceptable time have I heard thee, and in a day of salvation have I helped thee: and I will preserve thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people, to establish the earth, to cause to inherit the desolate heritages; 9  That thou mayest say to the prisoners, Go forth; to them that are in darkness, Shew yourselves. They shall feed in the ways, and their pastures shall be in all high places. 10  They shall not hunger nor thirst; neither shall the heat nor sun smite them: for he that hath mercy on them shall lead them, even by the springs of water shall he guide them. 11 And I will make all my mountains a way, and my h...

My Testimony II

Being thrown out of the House Praying to God for a Miracle was our daily job,  we were crying, pleading to God in fasting and prayers for God to intervene in our affairs so that our father would love us and let us live happily together... little did we know that Gods way out for us would be something we had dreaded for years, that made us endure those horrendous years of suffering (if only we knew we would have giving God thanks instead of crying all along not knowing God was working his purpose out.) My experience as a child could be summed up as hellish, Proverbs 14:13, 13 Laughter can conceal a heavy heart; when the laughter ends, the grief remains . coupled with the fact that I had to deal with the different women coming in and out of the house, being asked repeatedly if they were a suitable replacement for my mother or if they were suitable to be my mother was another horrendous experience, I begged God to deliver me from. My father was used to  having his way all the...

My Testimony I

By the Special Grace of God, I  hereby submit a short version of my testimony, agree or not it is true, cannot write every thing Down but I must say that Life has taught me things only God knows. . . am not in the habit of talking much about myself and so if there any thing you might want to know about me, Read and feel free to ask me any questions you wish. Godbless.  I would also like you to Read this post A  Brief  History About This Blog before you continue ... that is if you haven't already. Thanks. Ecclesiastes 1:9-11, 9 History merely repeats itself. It has all been done before. Nothing under the sun is truly new. 10 What can you point to that is new? How do you know it didn’t already exist long ago? 11 We don’t remember what happened in those former times. And in future generations, no one will remember what we are doing now. Revelations 12:11, 11 And they have defeated him because of the blood of the Lamb and because of their testimony. Introduction My...

Did you know . . .

To laugh is to risk appearing the fool To weep is to risk appearing sentimental To reach out for another is to risk involvement To expose feelings is to risk exposing your true self To place your ideas, your dreams before the crowd is to risk their loss To love is to risk not being loved in return To live is to risk dying To hope is to risk despair To try is to risk failure But risks must be taken because the greatest hazard in life is to risk nothing. The person who risks nothing, does nothing, has nothing and is nothing. They may avoid suffering and sorrow, but they cannot learn, feel, change, grow, love, live. Chained by their certitudes, they are a slave, they have forfeited their freedom. Only a person who risks is free. --Leo Bascaglia

Ten Ways to Marry the Wrong Person

Beloved brothers and Sisters in Christ Jesus here is what I thought is a Great outlook on love/marriage. Enjoy! This is kind of long, but it makes some interesting points. By Rabbi Dov Heller, M.A . With the divorce rate over 50%, too many are apparently making a serious mistake in deciding who to spend the rest of their life with. To avoid becoming a "statistic," try to internalize 10 insights. 1. You pick the wrong person because you expect him/her to change after you're married . The classic mistake. Never marry potential. The golden rule is, if you can't be happy with the person the way he or she is now, don't get married. As a colleague of mine so wisely put it, "You actually can expect people to change after their married...for the worst!" So when it comes to the other person's spirituality, character, personal hygiene, communication skills, and personal habits, make sure you can live with these as they are now. 2. You pick the wrong pers...

THE U IN JESUS!!!

Before U were thought of or time had begun, God even stuck U in the name of His Son. And each time U pray, you'll see it's true You can't spell out JesUs and not include U. You're a pretty big part of His wonderful name, For U, He was born; that's why He came. And His great love for U is the reason He died. It even takes U to spell crUcified. Isn't it thrilling and splendidly grand He rose from the dead, with U in His plan. The stones split away, the gold trUmpet blew, and this word resUrrection is spelled with a U. When JesUs left earth at His upward ascension, He felt there was one thing He just had to mention. Go into the world and tell them it's true That I love them all - Just like I love U. So many great people are spelled with a U, Don't they have a right to know JesUs too? It all depends now on what U will do, He'd like them to know But it all starts with U. Author Unknown

Let's Talk About Love

Glory to God!!! February is here again and soon everyone will be all about Valentines this and Valentine that, so many people will get engaged on that day or better still get married on that day. . . Well am not against people celebrating or whatever, even I have picked out things I want my husband to buy for me, LOL. The fact still remains that many rush into things without looking, hence the high divorce rates, and spousal abuse etc (especially in the Christendom) it is scary that even the world have to give advice to Christians now. Perhaps you are already married , about to wed, or in a very serious relationship, I recommend you read this along side with your Bible. My junior sister's friend sent me this through email last year Godbless you as read SUCCESS IN LOVE RELATIONSHIPS Success in love relationships is not a matter of luck. The state of your love relationship today is a product of your choice till date. Choices are made based on the information at our disposal per ...

Did you know . . .

OK I have to admit that I am sending this one out without checking to see if it is true or not. I thought it was cute. Did you know . . . ' Stewardesses'    is the longest word typed with only the left hand And 'lollipop '   is the longest word typed with your right hand.   (Bet you tried this out mentally, didn't you?) No word in the English language rhymes with month, orange, silver, or purple. 'Dreamt ' is the only English word that ends in the letters 'mt '.? (Are you doubting this?) Our eyes are always the same size from birth, but our nose and ears   never stop growing. The sentence: 'The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog ' uses every letter of the alphabet.   (Now, you KNOW you're going to try this out for accuracy, right?) The words 'racecar,'   'kayak'    and 'level'    are the same whether they are read left to right or right to left (palindromes).   (Yep, I knew you were going t...
