Others

Words: Charles D. Meigs , 1917. Lord, help me live from day to day In such a self-forgetful way That even when I kneel to pray My prayer shall be for—Others. Refrain Others, Lord, yes others, Let this my motto be, Help me to live for others, That I may live like Thee. Help me in all the work I do To ever be sincere and true And know that all I’d do for You Must needs be done for—Others. Refrain Let “Self” be crucified and slain And buried deep: and all in vain May efforts be to rise again, Unless to live for—Others. Refrain And when my work on earth is done, And my new work in Heav’n’s begun, May I forget the crown I’ve won, While thinking still of—Others. Refrain

Televangelist Juanita Bynum’s ex-husband seeks new wife on Web

DULUTH, Ga. (AP) — The ex-husband of national televangelist Juanita Bynum , who divorced after a parking lot fight between the two landed him in jail, plans to take his search for a new wife to the Internet with videos featuring dating tips and what he’s looking for in a mate. Thomas W. Weeks III , a minister who runs an Atlanta-area church and is known to his followers as Bishop Weeks, said the 10-episode series will be available starting Tuesday on his Web site. Excerpts available Friday included Weeks, 41, discussing with aides what he should look for in his third wife. The group concludes the woman should be at least 25 years old but “with special exemptions for 21 and up if they are classy,” Weeks said. She also must want to have children with him. “This woman has to be very discerning, and very intimate, and very social and very sensual,” Weeks says, laughing. “And on the ministry side she has to be very diverse. She can...

What a Friend We Have in Jesus

Performed by Loretta Lynn Written by Joseph M. Scriven , 1855   What a friend we have in Jesus, All our sins and grief's to bear! What a privilege to carry Everything to God in prayer! Oh, what peace we often forfeit, Oh, what needless pain we bear, All because we do not carry Everything to God in prayer! Have we trials and temptations? Is there trouble anywhere? We should never be discouraged— Take it to the Lord in prayer. Can we find a friend so faithful, Who will all our sorrows share? Jesus knows our every weakness; Take it to the Lord in prayer. Are we weak and heavy-laden, Cumbered with a load of care? Precious Savior, still our refuge— Take it to the Lord in prayer. Do thy friends despise, forsake thee? Take it to the Lord in prayer! In His arms He’ll take and shield thee, Thou wilt find a solace there. Blessed Savior, Thou hast promised Thou wilt all our burdens bear; May we ever, Lord, be bringing All to Thee in earnest prayer. Soon in glory bright, unclouded, There...

Update on Todd Bentley & Lakeland

This particular article  was brought to my  attention by an anonymous visitor and I didn't think it would nice for me to read it alone because, I'd say, this about clears most of the questions I and most of  you fellow brothers and Sisters have been asking for sometime now and I think that the Body of Christ needs to heal from this heartache so we can move forward. . .  to the work of our God ! Amen. READ THIS REPORT AND WATCH FOR THE POINTS I HAVE HIGHLIGHTED BELOW: ROBERT RICCIARDELI RESPONDS TO RECENT TODD BENTLEY NEWS Sun August 17, 2008 10:11 am  Roberts Weekly Pondering Todd Bentley's moral failure was publicly exposed this week. There is more that has come forth from young women and pastors from his home town and around the world, so more information should be forthcoming, unfortunately . We have tried to be wise in our reporting, as we felt compelled to report because so many questions were being asked and so many were being influenced by wrongful d...

Todd Bentley, Divorcing His Wife!!!

I never knew I would write any article on Todd Bentley, because I deliberately avoided the topic while it was raging all over, even though my husband was very vocal against him and his group then, he is even telling me right now that he is not surprised about this piece of news . With this recent development in  Todd Bentley's marital life even, there are many questions that Christians need to search for the answers Spiritually and in the scriptures. . . also hold him accountable for the gospel he preached, especially if he is not living it. Enough about the people Preaching something else  and doing another, I wonder why some Spirit- filled men and women of God are not on TV? Money . . . I guess Separation May End Bentley’s Lakeland Appearances Todd Bentley , the evangelist who has led the Florida Outpouring revival here in Lakeland since April 2, has filed for separation from his wife and might not return to the revival, according to his former local spokesperson, Lynne...

Glory To God For This News

This is very great news to me and the body of Christ, it is good to know that  just after my  recent post on  Divorce in the Christendom, God led me to this News article some minutes ago  Read and be blessed Couples Vow Recommitment To Marriage By Aaron Leichman Christian Post Reporter Wed, July. 09 2008 02:27 PM EDT In an era where rising divorce rates and marital infidelity are rapidly becoming societal norms, hundreds of couples met together last month to buck the secular trends of the world with a renewed commitment to God and the sanctity of biblical marriage. Worldwide Marriage Encounter (WWME), which is active in over 90 countries and exists to give couples a “weekend experience” to recommit their marriages through “techniques of loving communication” centered on God, held its 40th anniversary convention on June 27-29 at the Ontario Convention Center in Ontario, Calif. "This is a way for us to reinforce the permanence of our marriage vows and the sanctity ...

Is Divorce The Answer?

Image
The whole News Media and Christians alike  terrified with this news at least I speak for myself . I thought pastors/bishops were role models? and people who should show the "lost" the way to the Cross, how disappointed I am  about this news. I ask myself couldn't they have forgiven and forgotten? or was their bruised ego too much to bear; making it difficult for them to humble themselves before God and reconcile to the Glory of God?. (sometimes I wonder if it was as a result of the beating taking place at a public place that made it worse for her to forgive, maybe if it was at home nobody would know and she might still be in the Marriage) who knows!? I ask again isn't there any tiniest way the Holy Spirit must have dropped it in their hearts for them to make peace for the sake of the flock they are overseeing? Well I know that some of us are too familiar with God so we can  do whatever we like Proverb 14:12  There is a way that seems right to a man, but in the en...

A Short Story on Forgiveness

Image
The issue of forgiveness is a very tough one but very necessary for our Salvation in Christ Jesus, Not to be ignored to say the least,  I am one who has had to forgive a lot and especially recently because I  have come to realize that it's no use holding unto the hurts and offenses most of all the Holy Spirit has ,made me know that God is the Judge and not me. Exodus 14:14 14The LORD shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace. AMEN! When the Holy Spirit is in you and the fruit of the Spirit operates in you, you  must become a broken Christian and  learn to forgive your enemies no matter how hard it looks or seems. "I am a witness"  because, I know I have said in time past, I will never forgive this person or that person but, today the good Lord has taken all that strife and bitterness from my life and turned it into love. Sometimes I Wonder what happened to me!? there are times when my family would expect me to react violently  th...

A Short Story

An Unspoken Bible His name is Bill. He has wild hair, wears a T-shirt with holes in it, jeans and no shoes. This was literally is wardrobe for his entire four years of college. He is brilliant. Kind of esoteric and very, very bright. He became a Christian recently while attending college. Across the street from the campus is a well-dressed, very conservative church. One day Bill decides to go there. He walks in with no shoes, jeans, his T-shirt, and wild hair. The service has already started and So Bill starts down the aisle looking for a seat. The church is completely packed and he can't find a seat. By now people are really looking a bit uncomfortable, but no one says anything. Bill gets closer and closer and closer to the pulpit and, when he realizes there are no seats, he just squats down right on the carpet. (Although perfectly acceptable behavior at a college fellowship, trust me, this had never happened in this church before! By now the people are really uptight,...

My Testimony III

My Walk With Christ Following Christ has been a reality for me, my goal is to make heaven and to make sure that others around me do so too through the Grace of Christ Jesus my Lord.  this passage I live by, without it I don't know what would have become of my faith in Christ today. Isaiah 49: 8-11,8  Thus saith the Lord, In an acceptable time have I heard thee, and in a day of salvation have I helped thee: and I will preserve thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people, to establish the earth, to cause to inherit the desolate heritages; 9  That thou mayest say to the prisoners, Go forth; to them that are in darkness, Shew yourselves. They shall feed in the ways, and their pastures shall be in all high places. 10  They shall not hunger nor thirst; neither shall the heat nor sun smite them: for he that hath mercy on them shall lead them, even by the springs of water shall he guide them. 11 And I will make all my mountains a way, and my h...

My Testimony II

Being thrown out of the House Praying to God for a Miracle was our daily job,  we were crying, pleading to God in fasting and prayers for God to intervene in our affairs so that our father would love us and let us live happily together... little did we know that Gods way out for us would be something we had dreaded for years, that made us endure those horrendous years of suffering (if only we knew we would have giving God thanks instead of crying all along not knowing God was working his purpose out.) My experience as a child could be summed up as hellish, Proverbs 14:13, 13 Laughter can conceal a heavy heart; when the laughter ends, the grief remains . coupled with the fact that I had to deal with the different women coming in and out of the house, being asked repeatedly if they were a suitable replacement for my mother or if they were suitable to be my mother was another horrendous experience, I begged God to deliver me from. My father was used to  having his way all the...

My Testimony I

By the Special Grace of God, I  hereby submit a short version of my testimony, agree or not it is true, cannot write every thing Down but I must say that Life has taught me things only God knows. . . am not in the habit of talking much about myself and so if there any thing you might want to know about me, Read and feel free to ask me any questions you wish. Godbless.  I would also like you to Read this post A  Brief  History About This Blog before you continue ... that is if you haven't already. Thanks. Ecclesiastes 1:9-11, 9 History merely repeats itself. It has all been done before. Nothing under the sun is truly new. 10 What can you point to that is new? How do you know it didn’t already exist long ago? 11 We don’t remember what happened in those former times. And in future generations, no one will remember what we are doing now. Revelations 12:11, 11 And they have defeated him because of the blood of the Lamb and because of their testimony. Introduction My...

Did you know . . .

To laugh is to risk appearing the fool To weep is to risk appearing sentimental To reach out for another is to risk involvement To expose feelings is to risk exposing your true self To place your ideas, your dreams before the crowd is to risk their loss To love is to risk not being loved in return To live is to risk dying To hope is to risk despair To try is to risk failure But risks must be taken because the greatest hazard in life is to risk nothing. The person who risks nothing, does nothing, has nothing and is nothing. They may avoid suffering and sorrow, but they cannot learn, feel, change, grow, love, live. Chained by their certitudes, they are a slave, they have forfeited their freedom. Only a person who risks is free. --Leo Bascaglia

God's Answer

I asked God to take away my pride. God said "No". It is not for me to take away, but for you to give it up. I asked God to make my handicapped child whole. God said "No". Her spirit was whole, her body was only temporary. I asked God to grant me patience. God said "No". Patience is a by-product of tribulations; it isn't granted, it is earned. I asked God to give me happiness. God said "No". I give you blessings, happiness is up to you. I asked God to spare me pain. God said "No". Suffering draws you apart from worldly cares and brings you closer to me. I asked God to make my spirit grow. God said "No". You must grow on your own, but I will prune you to make you fruitful. I asked for all things that I might enjoy life. God said "No". I will give you life so that you may enjoy all things. I ask God to help me LOVE others, as much as he loves me. God said... Ahhhh, finally you have the idea!   Godbless Cha...

Do You Love Me?

Unknown Author   Woke up this morning to watch the breaking of a new day that the lord has made. Ah the beauty of God's creation is beyond my description. As I watched, I praised God  for his beautiful work. As I sat there, I felt the lord's presence with me. He asked me, "Do you love me?" I answered, "of course, God! you are my lord and savior!" Then he asked, "if you were physically handicapped, would you still love me?" I was perplexed, I looked down upon my arms, legs and the rest of my body and wondered how many things i wouldn't be able to do, the things that I took for granted. And i answered, "it would be tough lord, but i would still love you." Then the lord said,"if you were blind, would you still love my creation?  How could i love something without being able to see it? Then i thought of  all the blind people in the world and how many of them still loved  God and his creation. So I answered,"it's hard to think o...

Ten Ways to Marry the Wrong Person

Beloved brothers and Sisters in Christ Jesus here is what I thought is a Great outlook on love/marriage. Enjoy! This is kind of long, but it makes some interesting points. By Rabbi Dov Heller, M.A . With the divorce rate over 50%, too many are apparently making a serious mistake in deciding who to spend the rest of their life with. To avoid becoming a "statistic," try to internalize 10 insights. 1. You pick the wrong person because you expect him/her to change after you're married . The classic mistake. Never marry potential. The golden rule is, if you can't be happy with the person the way he or she is now, don't get married. As a colleague of mine so wisely put it, "You actually can expect people to change after their married...for the worst!" So when it comes to the other person's spirituality, character, personal hygiene, communication skills, and personal habits, make sure you can live with these as they are now. 2. You pick the wrong pers...
