Todd Bentley, Divorcing His Wife!!!
I never knew I would write any article on Todd Bentley, because I deliberately avoided the topic while it was raging all over, even though my husband was very vocal against him and his group then, he is even telling me right now that he is not surprised about this piece of news .
With this recent development in Todd Bentley's marital life even, there are many questions that Christians need to search for the answers Spiritually and in the scriptures. . . also hold him accountable for the gospel he preached, especially if he is not living it. Enough about the people Preaching something else and doing another, I wonder why some Spirit- filled men and women of God are not on TV? Money . . . I guess
Separation May End Bentley’s Lakeland Appearances
Todd Bentley, the evangelist who has led the Florida Outpouring revival here in Lakeland since April 2, has filed for separation from his wife and might not return to the revival, according to his former local spokesperson, Lynne Breidenbach. She said Bentley made the announcement to his staff this afternoon. Bentley and his wife, Shonnah, have two daughters and a son and are Canadian citizens.
Under Canadian law, separation is a first step in divorce proceedings and takes nine months. Bentley and his wife have been in marriage counseling for several months, Breidenbach said. She called the situation “very sad” but insisted it “doesn’t invalidate what Todd did” at the revival.

Now McMullen reports that Bentley and his wife — after having been in marriage counseling for several months — are separating:
My question: why are they divorcing ? and why Now after his Lakeland revival?
What did his Bible tell him about divorce?
Does he select the part of the Bible he wants to believe?
What is he telling those thousands of people who came to their Revival?
Is God telling us Something . . . Christians!?
sigh

Hmmm! interesting.. You have brought up some good questions. I am going to have to look into that just for my own self.. God Bless you!
ReplyDeleteObviously, Todd Bentley was visited by the "Angel of Divorce" and was told that he was special and that it was OK for him to divorce because he is serving God. (Sarcasm)
ReplyDeleteBut truthfully, we have many pastors who really claim and seem to be preachers of the gospel who do no differently. The divorce rate in the USA is the same for "Christians" and non-Christians.
Maybe this will cause those that are so enamored with Bentley to think twice.
Berean Wife
P.S. I heard it first here in Africa!
A good wife should always listen unto her husband!!! (Even though I am sure that my wife would not mind me leaving such a comment, maybe you should let me tell her about it since I failed to get permission to do so beforehand.)
ReplyDeleteThough most of us do not like Todd Bentley's ministry, I think we'll do well to not let this piece of news delight us. In any divorce proceedings, the biggest losers are the children and my heart goes out to them.
ReplyDeleteTodd Bentley has finally ran out of steam and his unholy antics......maybe he needs little time to learn more tricks for his lakeland revivals. I've always known he is a flash in the pan.....he is hanging it conveniently on his wife. The Bible says test all spirits. The ministration i get from his revival is both fake and disgusting....these are signs of end time do not be deceived.
ReplyDeleteGodbless you too Tamela, These are important questions to be asked and should too.
ReplyDeleteGodbless
Berean Wife, the "Angel of Divorce came down to tell him that he should divorce, this funny because these guys are disgracing themselves.
ReplyDeleteGodbless
LOL, FisHhawk, am sure she wouldn't mind at all.
ReplyDeleteGodbless
Isaiah, am not delighted at this news as a matter of fact am saddened by it, cos I know that the devil has succeeeded in destroying another family life.

These are the last days, anything is possible.I only have symphathy for the children of that marriage.I pray the Lord keep us all, the world is watching us,earnestly waiting for our manifestation.I pray we manifest that which glorifies God the father, the son and the holy spirit.
ReplyDeleteLuckenzo you are so funny! I have been laughing at some of these comments today.

Amen Bola, I say Big Amen to this Prayer
ReplyDeleteGodbless you sis
The false prophets in my opinion are making themselves widely known lately. I have read so many discouraging writings about how there is more than one way to salvation, that Jesus Christ is not the Son of God and that Jesus Christ has not come to earth yet. Now a so called minister of God's word is getting divorced? I don't know but this is all very troubling to my spirit. I just pray for God to reveal His power and glory to those who are being deceived and those who are deceivers.

Valerie Lynn
Sis valerie, it is worrisome and tiring even, it's like one doesn't have the time to preach now but only to fight these false teachings.

One of the evils simplest attacks on any preacher is through his wife. We cannot comment on what happened, but it could happen to us. Let's not rejoice here. Whatever you think of the man, if God has been using him or this opportunity to speak to the world let us be open to him and careful about our selves.
ReplyDelete(Me in preachers mode! This means trouble!)
I don't know. Did you ask Bentley why he is divorcing? Was there marital unfaithfulness involved? You need to find out Hanna.
ReplyDeleteSid
Most of you sound like Job's 3 friends. The enemy always want's to split the family. Job's wife to him to separate from God. Strike the sheperd and the sheep scatter. We need to pray for todd and his family that the enemy does'nt have his way. Most of you know nothing just judging incorrectly like Job's friends. I pray you are forgiven.
ReplyDeleteDear Adullamite, you said one of the evils simplest attacks on any preacher is through his wife. . . might I ask how is that? Have you thought about it the other way round, from what you are saying one can deduce that women are the major reasons for divorce that the men are ok . . .am I ccorrect Sir?
ReplyDeleteAlso I did not judge him, I simply wrote what I felt was not a good Christian behaviour especailly from a person who like you said has been seen by the whole World. so what is he telling thesame people? Am sure that was the reason for my post.
Godbless you
Very Good questions Sid, am still wondering why? hence my many questions. . . I still want to know
ReplyDeleteGodbless
Dear Anonymous I would like for you to go and read your Bible very well before you say people are judging Todd. I simply asked a few questions, now am judging Todd Bentley. who am I to judge Todd, am only concerned if he preaching about Salvation and Christ and yet he is not living it. . . I think he should be held accountable for what he say and does.
ReplyDeleteGodbless you
Sid, you might want to check out this link if you don't mind. . . it says more about this topic

Typical woman, don't read what I write! L)
ReplyDeleteThe enemy will attack men through their wives, your husband will confirm this! The first place most ministers find the enemy attack is the family home. Wives get jealous of the time spent working, the attention to church and not her, and then through a thousand problems folks have.
I think you will find many works end, or are damaged by the ministers adultery or marriage problems. I wonder if it is easier to attack someone this way in the west considering the loose values around us.
I was not saying you were judging. But that was an element in some of your respondents.
Dear Adullamite, You have made important points but I would also want you to know that an article says they have been having Marital Counseling for some years now. . . so you might want to know when it started and what now made them want to split up for good after all they have been through together.
ReplyDeleteMy point is families should stay together in peace and let the fear of God direct thier affairs
Sir, here is a link to support this point.

What folly! Get out of charismania and lead a normal life being productive instead of all this foolishness. Flee and renounce all this poppycock! However you are free to ignore reality and persist in your folly if you insist. Have at it.
ReplyDeleteGodbless you Annonymous . . . All I can say is, may God forgive your language in Jesus Mighty Name Amen
ReplyDeleteMost of you sound like Job's 3 friends. - Anonymous.
ReplyDeleteJob was blameless. Todd's not.
The bible clearly states in 1 Joh 4:1 Dear friends, do not beleive every spirit but test the Spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. I am not here to judge anyone but I can say the bible says that in the last days that there will be false prophets-those who speak contrary to the word of God and some do it for personal gain. I am not saying this man is real or not but the Word of God is the standard. The sad thing about this is when people like someone they dont want to beleive anything negative about them but does his name have to be Jim Jones in order for people to wake up!
ReplyDeleteI pray that all will uphold Todds' wife and children in prayer and love. It is they who are going through a very terrible time right now.
ReplyDeleteI have seen personally that even though men are annointed, they can be terrible to live with and mean to thier family. We are commanded to love God and others. No one can committ adultry and love thier family. It seems as though this was not the first time. He should have been held more accountable three years ago.

ReplyDeleteDear annonymous No 27 Godbless you fo your comment you have made great points
ReplyDeleteDear Annonymous 28, I feel what you are saying truly he should have been held accountable too. I was saying that all along in my posts . . . am glad the deceit is over God will heal His family in Jesus Mighty Name Amen
ReplyDeleteGodbless you Lorikate the Bible says Job was a blameless man. . . but here we have man who only God knows the kind of life he is living. . . and God has finally exposed him and all who were doubting can now see that evil will not go unpunished. am also sure the disgrace is going to either make him a better Christian if he truly repents
ReplyDeleteGodbless
Can i just say, what is happening here is you are condemning and judging todd, you have no right to, doesn't the bible say nobody is perfect? We all make mistakes, if Todd Bentley did do something wrong why coud'nt it be the devil trying to disrupt his ministry after the massive outpouring of the revival, I could'nt believe the news, but now i have come to accept, that the enemy has come to tear Todd away from ministry, I believe in Fresh Fire Ministries and everything they stand for
ReplyDeleteBlessings
Garry
Dear Garry, You are correct in saying so if you, read carefully you would see were just pointing out things that don't add up
