The Miracle Of Prayer

Image
by David J. Stewart I t is disturbing to find so many people that fail to believe God answers prayer. Several top “authors” and so-called “professionals” being interviewed on TV lately, have claimed that prayer is a great therapy (as an end in itself). You never hear them mention God. It is sad that prayer has been diminished to the status of going to the park to watch the birds. Prayer is not effective because it is a good therapy. Prayer is effective because there is an omnipotent (all powerful) God up in heaven that hears and answers prayer !  I am leery of bumper sticker theology.  I see bumper stickers promoting about the "Power of Prayer," but prayer is nothing without a Powerful Divine God.  I believe in the "Power of God." Answered prayer can only happen by a miracle of God. A “Miracle” is defined in the Random House College Dictionary as “an event in the physical world that surpasses all known h...

"Most Peculiar"

A Post From Fishhawk's Blog Asthecrackerheadcrumbles Now therefore, if you will obey My voice in truth and keep My covenant, then you shall be My own peculiar possession and treasure from among and above all peoples; for the earth is Mine. {Exodus 19:5 AMP} By definition, according to [Merriam-Webster’s Online Dictionary] , peculiar means: (1) characteristic of only one person, group, or thing: distinctive (2) different from the usual or normal, a: special, particular b: odd, curious c: eccentric, queer. Personally, I would add different to the list. In fact, strange or weird makes even more sense to me. For this is what I feel like when I try to explain the kind of relationship that I have had with our Heavenly Father since He became real to me in 1993, and from the reactions that I have received, I do not believe that many would disagree with the assertion that I truly am most peculiar in a very strange and weird kind of way (at best). I don...

A Short Story on True Happiness

Image
A Desperate Man There was a man who had everything you could want, everything but happiness and hope. He had a good business and more money than he could count, houses all over the world, and owned an island in the South Pacific Ocean. He had a loving wife and four children, two boys and two girls. He was constantly putting on parties and all sorts of affairs trying to find what his younger brother already had. You see his younger brother had been ask to become a partner in the company several years earlier but turn it down because he was already a partner in something bigger. The younger brother did not own a fancy house instead he and his wife rented a small three-bedroom house in the country where they were raising their three children, one son and two daughters. The younger brother was happy with his life; he had everything he needed. You see the younger brother had found Jesus Christ and was living life the way God wanted him to. The older brother could not understand how his youn...

Pray without Ceasing!

Image
The Scripture says in 1 Thessalonians 5:17 Pray without ceasing . By the Special Grace of God, I would love  for every child of God interested in going to Heaven first of all/  interested in living a God filled life. . .  which will in turn enable us to make the best out of life here on Earth, to pray and keep on praying and take Prayers seriously for we are in perilous times and the heart of mankind is desperately wicked especially today (if you doubt that. . .  read the news and look around you). we can talk all we want argue and show our knowledge of the Gospel over one another but without the power of Prayer we are going to be powerless Christians. Prayer changes things especially those things the meant devil meant for evil for us, God will turn around for our good through Prayers in Christ's name . We can talk a lot about Christ and everything we know about God but if you are not a Praying Christian you are not a powerful Christian and will end being "a cooked...

Glory To God For This News

This is very great news to me and the body of Christ, it is good to know that  just after my  recent post on  Divorce in the Christendom, God led me to this News article some minutes ago  Read and be blessed Couples Vow Recommitment To Marriage By Aaron Leichman Christian Post Reporter Wed, July. 09 2008 02:27 PM EDT In an era where rising divorce rates and marital infidelity are rapidly becoming societal norms, hundreds of couples met together last month to buck the secular trends of the world with a renewed commitment to God and the sanctity of biblical marriage. Worldwide Marriage Encounter (WWME), which is active in over 90 countries and exists to give couples a “weekend experience” to recommit their marriages through “techniques of loving communication” centered on God, held its 40th anniversary convention on June 27-29 at the Ontario Convention Center in Ontario, Calif. "This is a way for us to reinforce the permanence of our marriage vows and the sanctity ...

Is Divorce The Answer?

Image
The whole News Media and Christians alike  terrified with this news at least I speak for myself . I thought pastors/bishops were role models? and people who should show the "lost" the way to the Cross, how disappointed I am  about this news. I ask myself couldn't they have forgiven and forgotten? or was their bruised ego too much to bear; making it difficult for them to humble themselves before God and reconcile to the Glory of God?. (sometimes I wonder if it was as a result of the beating taking place at a public place that made it worse for her to forgive, maybe if it was at home nobody would know and she might still be in the Marriage) who knows!? I ask again isn't there any tiniest way the Holy Spirit must have dropped it in their hearts for them to make peace for the sake of the flock they are overseeing? Well I know that some of us are too familiar with God so we can  do whatever we like Proverb 14:12  There is a way that seems right to a man, but in the en...

A Short Story on Forgiveness

Image
The issue of forgiveness is a very tough one but very necessary for our Salvation in Christ Jesus, Not to be ignored to say the least,  I am one who has had to forgive a lot and especially recently because I  have come to realize that it's no use holding unto the hurts and offenses most of all the Holy Spirit has ,made me know that God is the Judge and not me. Exodus 14:14 14The LORD shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace. AMEN! When the Holy Spirit is in you and the fruit of the Spirit operates in you, you  must become a broken Christian and  learn to forgive your enemies no matter how hard it looks or seems. "I am a witness"  because, I know I have said in time past, I will never forgive this person or that person but, today the good Lord has taken all that strife and bitterness from my life and turned it into love. Sometimes I Wonder what happened to me!? there are times when my family would expect me to react violently  th...

Someone once said that anger is a a condition which the tongue is faster than the mind. NLT Anger is a natural Negative emotion (Very Bad) Anger can make one respond to issues in a violent way Anger makes you hurt others either verbally o...

My Testimony III

My Walk With Christ Following Christ has been a reality for me, my goal is to make heaven and to make sure that others around me do so too through the Grace of Christ Jesus my Lord.  this passage I live by, without it I don't know what would have become of my faith in Christ today. Isaiah 49: 8-11,8  Thus saith the Lord, In an acceptable time have I heard thee, and in a day of salvation have I helped thee: and I will preserve thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people, to establish the earth, to cause to inherit the desolate heritages; 9  That thou mayest say to the prisoners, Go forth; to them that are in darkness, Shew yourselves. They shall feed in the ways, and their pastures shall be in all high places. 10  They shall not hunger nor thirst; neither shall the heat nor sun smite them: for he that hath mercy on them shall lead them, even by the springs of water shall he guide them. 11 And I will make all my mountains a way, and my h...

My Testimony II

Being thrown out of the House Praying to God for a Miracle was our daily job,  we were crying, pleading to God in fasting and prayers for God to intervene in our affairs so that our father would love us and let us live happily together... little did we know that Gods way out for us would be something we had dreaded for years, that made us endure those horrendous years of suffering (if only we knew we would have giving God thanks instead of crying all along not knowing God was working his purpose out.) My experience as a child could be summed up as hellish, Proverbs 14:13, 13 Laughter can conceal a heavy heart; when the laughter ends, the grief remains . coupled with the fact that I had to deal with the different women coming in and out of the house, being asked repeatedly if they were a suitable replacement for my mother or if they were suitable to be my mother was another horrendous experience, I begged God to deliver me from. My father was used to  having his way all the...

My Testimony I

By the Special Grace of God, I  hereby submit a short version of my testimony, agree or not it is true, cannot write every thing Down but I must say that Life has taught me things only God knows. . . am not in the habit of talking much about myself and so if there any thing you might want to know about me, Read and feel free to ask me any questions you wish. Godbless.  I would also like you to Read this post A  Brief  History About This Blog before you continue ... that is if you haven't already. Thanks. Ecclesiastes 1:9-11, 9 History merely repeats itself. It has all been done before. Nothing under the sun is truly new. 10 What can you point to that is new? How do you know it didn’t already exist long ago? 11 We don’t remember what happened in those former times. And in future generations, no one will remember what we are doing now. Revelations 12:11, 11 And they have defeated him because of the blood of the Lamb and because of their testimony. Introduction My...

A Brief History About This Blog

This is so hard for me to do first of all I am a little bit confused as to what I should or should not write down, cos am not a writer who knows how to play with words. I have been vacillating for a quite some time now... I keep asking this question " Good Lord, do I have to tell the world my story"? what's to tell? who cares to listen to what I have to say? I know for sure that when God sends you on an assignment, you don't have to look at it from the human/self perspective. "God knows my story is not sweet to tell , left alone to me I wouldn't say anything" BUT I know that whatever God wants me to do that I have no choice but to obey. even if it is for only the person that God wants to touch by it... I shall be most humbled and I pray that it Happens in Jesus Mighty Name Amen. Maybe few of you know this but will say it anyway's,  this month of April is the 1st Anniversary of this blog Channelofhealing it is been one G reat Holy Experience for ...

A Short Story

Image
THE OLD TREE Once upon a time there was a leafy tree in a field. Leaves grew densely on the tall branches. The roots were deeply into the ground. The tree was the most remarkable among the rest. The tree then became the home for some birds. They built their nests and they lived on his branches. The birds made holes on him, and they hatched their eggs within the greatness of the tree. The tree felt so delighted because he was accompanied as he walked through his long lasting days. People were grateful for the presence of the tree. They often came over and sheltered under him. Under his branches, they sat down and opened their picnic baskets. “This tree is very useful,” that’s what the people said everytime they went home from shelter. The tree was very proud hearing those compliments. However, time went on. The tree was beginning to be sick. His leaves and twigs were falling, then his body became thin and pale. The greatness he used to have was fadin...
