South African Man Miraculously Survives Accident after Cancelling his Life Insurance So he could Tithe to Church By Aimee Herd: July 17, 2008 : Staff Reporter and Sapa – The Times "When the truck started pushing my car towards this lane (the fast lane) and it started crumpling, I just had this urge to say 'Jesus! Jesus! Jesus!'" When you see a photo of the car vs. runaway truck accident—that happened on Tuesday of this week, near the Buccleuch interchange in Johannesburg, South Africa—you might imagine there was no way anyone inside the crushed older model VW Jetta could have survived. (Photo: The Times) However, 49-year-old Absolom Morifi did survive, without any injuries, and he's calling it a miracle. Really though, the part of this Divine intervention story that makes it so amazing is what happened a few days before. While attending the Rhema Church over the weekend, Absolom felt a nudge by the Holy Spirit to step out in faith. "I went to church on...

A Short Story

Many folks have heard or read this story time and time again but for the sake of those who haven't already... please do read and be blessed as I was when  read it. Godbless FOR COUPLES AND INTENDING ONES.... When I got home that night as my wife served dinner, I held her hand and said, I've got something to tell you. She sat down and ate quietly. Again I observed the hurt in her eyes.Suddenly I didn't know how to open my mouth. But I had to let her know what I was thinking. "I want a divorce!" I raised the topic calmly. She didn't seem to be annoyed by my words, instead she asked me softly, "Why"? I avoided her question. This made her angry. She threw away the chopsticks and shouted at me, you are not a man! That night, we didn't talk to each other. She was weeping. I knew she wanted to find out what had happened to our marriage. But I could hardly give her a satisfactory answer; she had lost my heart to a lovely girl called Dew. I didn't l...

A Lesson in Giving

What's Love and care Gotta do with anything? Read this Story my Friend and find out! Chopsticks In Korea, there is a legend about a native warrior who died and went to heaven. "Before I enter," he said to the gatekeeper, "I would like you to take me on a tour of hell." The gatekeeper found a guide to take the warrior to hell. When they got there, the warrior was astonished to see a great table piled high with every tasty food he could imagine - anything one could possibly want to eat or drink. The warrior then looked at the people. They were all starving. "How could this be?" he asked the guide. "Are they not allowed to eat?" "Oh yes, they can eat," said the guide "but they must use the chopsticks they are given. They are five feet long and they must hold them at the end. Just look at them. They miss their mouths every time!" "Enough," said the warrior, "This is hell, indeed! Please take me back to heaven....

Life Is A Gift

Enjoy this Story my friend, though you might have seen it before... it's worth reading again. There was a blind girl who hated herself just because she's blind. She hated everyone, except her loving boyfriend. He's always there for her. She said that if she could only see the world, she would marry her boyfriend. One day, someone donated a pair of eyes to her and then she can see everything, including her boyfriend. Her boyfriend asked her, "now that you can see the world, will you marry me?" The girl was shocked when she saw that her boyfriend is blind too, and refused to marry him. Her boyfriend walked away in tears, and later wrote a letter to her saying. "Just take care of my eyes dear.” This is how human brain changes when the status changed. Only few remember what life was before, and who's always been there even in the most painful situations. God Answers Prayers

Image
I was touched and ministered to by this, I felt compelled to share it with you. I hope you don’t mind? God wants you to listen and touch a life today. Read and digest: A young man had been to Wednesday Night Bible Study. The Pastor had shared about listening to God and obeying the Lord's voice. The young man couldn't help but wonder, "Does God still speak to people?" After service, he went out with some friends for coffee and pie and they discussed the message. Several different ones talked about how God had led them in different ways. It was about ten o'clock when the young man started driving home. Sitting in his car, he just began to pray, "God...If you still speak to people, speak to me. I will listen. I will do my best to obey." As he drove down the main street of his town, he had the strangest thought to stop and buy a gallon of milk. He shook his head and said out loud, "God is that you?" He didn't get a reply and started on...

He Took The Whipping

Image
Author Unknown In the mountains of Virginia, there once was a one-room school with students no teacher had been able to handle. Two or three teachers had been run off from this school in one year by the unruly students.  A young teacher heard about the school and applied for the job. The man interviewing him asked, "Do you not know what you are asking for? No one has been able to handle these students. You are just asking for a terrible beating." After a few moments of silent prayer, the young man replied, "Sir, with your consent I accept the challenge. Just give me a trial basis." The next morning the young man stood before the class. He said to the class, "Young people, I came here today to conduct school. But I realize I can't do it by myself. I must have your help." One big boy they called Big Tom, in the back of the room whispered to his buddies, "I'll not need any help. I can lick that little bird all by myself." The young teac...

UNUSUAL MAIL

Ruth went to her mail box and there was only one letter.  She picked it up and looked at it before opening, but then she looked at the envelope again.  There was no stamp, no postmark, only her name and address.  She read the letter: DEAR RUTH, I AM GOING TO BE IN YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD SATURDAY AFTERNOON AND I'D LIKE TO STOP BY FOR A VISIT. LOVE, JESUS. Her hands were shaking as she placed the letter on the table. "Why would the Lord want to visit me?  I'm nobody special.  I don't have anything to offer."  With that thought, Ruth remembered her empty kitchen cabinets. "Oh my goodness, I really don't have anything to offer.  I'll have to run down to the store and buy something for dinner."  She reached for her purse and counted out its contents.  Five dollars and forty cents.  "Well, I can get some bread and cold cuts, at least." She threw on her coat and hurried out the door.  A loaf of french bread, a half-pound of sliced turkey, an...

Tomorrow is not Promised

Sometimes people come into your life and you know right away that they were meant to be there, they serve some sort of purpose, teach you a lesson or help figure out who you are and who you want to become. You never know who these people may be your neighbor, child, long lost friend, lover, or even a complete stranger who, when you lock eyes with them, you know at that very moment that they will affect your life in some profound way.And sometimes things happen to you and at the time they seem painful and unfair but in reflection you realize that without overcoming those obstacles you would have never realized your potential strength, will power, or heart. Everything happens for a reason. Nothing happens by chance or by means of good or bad luck. Illness, injury, love, lost moments of true greatness and sheer stupidity all occur to test the limits of your soul. Without these small tests whether they be events, illnesses or relationships, life would be like a smoothly paved straight flat ro...

God's Wings

-- Author Unknown An article in National Geographic several years ago provided a penetrating picture of God's wings. After a forest fire in Yellowstone National Park, forest rangers began their trek up a mountain to assess the inferno's damage. One ranger found a bird literally petrified in ashes, perched statuesquely on the ground at the base of a tree. Somewhat sickened by the eerie sight, he knocked over the bird with a stick. When he gently struck it, three tiny chicks scurried from under their dead mother's wings. The loving mother, keenly aware of impending disaster, had carried her offspring to the base of the tree and had gathered them under her wings, instinctively knowing that the toxic smoke would rise. She could have flown to safety but refused to abandon her babies. When the blaze had arrived and the heat had scorched her small body, the mother had remained steadfast. Because she had been willing to die, those under the cover of her wings would live. "He ...

Short Stories

Greetings, I want to share these with you today... these made me laugh when I read them, because it reminded me of how shortsighted, self centered/engrossed we are most times and we forget about the most important thing in life... trusting/having faith in God at all times to see us through every situation we may find ourselves in, for the Bible clearly says in Philippians 1:6 being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.. NLT. Your Burden The young man was at the end of his rope. Seeing no way out, he dropped to his knees in prayer. "Lord, I can't go on," he said. "I have too heavy a cross to bear." The Lord replied, "My son, if you can't bear it's weight, just place your cross inside this room. Then open another door and pick any cross you wish." The man was filled with relief. "Thank you, Lord," he sighed, and did as he was told. As he looked around the r...

My Cup Has Overflowed

I've never made a fortune and it's probably too late now. But I don't worry about that much, I'm happy anyhow. And as I go along life's way, I'm reaping better than I sowed. I'm drinking from my saucer, Cause my cup has overflowed. Haven't got a lot of riches, and sometimes the going's tough. But I've got loving ones around me, and that makes me rich enough. I thank God for his blessings, and the mercies He's bestowed. I'm drinking from my saucer, cause my cup has overflowed. O, Remember times when things went wrong, My faith wore somewhat thin. But all at once the dark clouds broke, and sun peeped through again. So Lord, help me not to gripe about the tough rows that I've hoed. I'm drinking from my saucer, Cause my cup has overflowed. If God gives me strength and courage, when the way grows steep and rough. I'll not ask for other blessings, I'm already blessed enough. And may I never be too busy, to help others bea...

FROM THE DESK OF GOD!

-- Author Unknown Effective Immediately: Please be aware that there are changes you need to make in your life. These changes need to be completed in order that I may fulfill my promises to you to grant you peace, joy and happiness in this life. I apologize for any inconvenience, but after all that I am doing, this seems very little to ask of you. I know, I already gave you the 10 Commandments. Keep them. But follow these guidelines as well... 1. QUIT WORRYING Life has dealt you a blow and all you do is sit and worry. Have you forgotten that I am here to take all your burdens and carry them for you? Or do you just enjoy fretting over every little thing that comes your way? 2. PUT IT ON THE LIST Something needs done or taken care of. Put it on the list. No, not YOUR list. Put it on MY to-do-list. Let ME be the one to take care of the problem. I can't help you until you turn it over to me. And, although my to-do-list is long, I am, after all, God. I can take care of anything you put i...

Our Lives

There was a rich merchant who had 4 wives. He loved the 4th wife the most and adorned her with rich robes and treated her to delicacies. He took great care of her and gave her nothing but the best. He also loved the 3rd wife very much. He's very proud of her and always wanted to show off her to his friends. However, the merchant is always in great fear that she might run away with some other men. He too, loved his 2nd wife. She is a very considerate person, always patient and in fact is the merchant's confidante. Whenever the merchant faced some problems, he always turned to his 2nd wife and she would always help him out and tide him through difficult times. Now, the merchant's 1st wife is a very loyal partner and has made great contributions in maintaining his wealth and business as well as taking care of the household. However, the merchant did not love the first wife and although she loved him deeply, he hardly took notice of her. One day, the merchant fell ill. Be...

Build Wisely

Building Your House An elderly carpenter was ready to retire. He told his employer-contractor of his plans to leave the house-building business to live a more leisurely life with his wife and enjoy his extended family. He would miss the paycheck each week, but he wanted to retire. They could get by. The contractor was sorry to see his good worker go & asked if he could build just one more house as a personal favor. The carpenter said yes, but over time it was easy to see that his heart was not in his work. He resorted to shoddy workmanship and used inferior materials. It was an unfortunate way to end a dedicated career. When the carpenter finished his work, his employer came to inspect the house. Then he handed the front-door key to the carpenter and said, "This is your house... my gift to you." The carpenter was shocked! What a shame! If he had only known he was building his own house, he would have done it all so differently. So it is with us. We build our lives, a day ...

REAPING WHAT YOU SOW

I gave this title after reading this story because it's funny how we in life want to be treated better than we treat others, want more attention than we can give to others, want people to run after us as if we are God's blessings to mankind whereas we are just mere mortals who can't see beyond or noses... lets face it we will all reap what we sow someday, whether it be good or bad, like the popular proverb in my country says... only the bad person or a person with the guilty conscience will not say "AMEN" when this prayer is said... "may it be unto us as we have done to others". In other words, what the proverb means, is that we are aware of our treatment of others whether they be our friends or family even acquaintances... funny enough they too are aware of the treatment we give to them and will oblige someday wether in a good way or in a not so good way. Like the lesson in this story teaches ... "A son and his father were walking on the mountain...

A Wonderful Story

I was really touched when I saw this story and decided to share it here with you, I believe in this story too... no need to say much cos the story speaks for itself. Enjoy and learn Things Aren't Always As They Seem Two traveling angels stopped to spend the night in the home of a wealthy family. The family was rude and refused to let the angels stay in the mansion's guest room. Instead the angels were given a small space in the cold basement. As they made their bed on the hard floor, the older angel saw a hole in the wall and repaired it. When the younger angel asked why, the older angel replied, "Things aren't always what they seem." The next night the pair came to rest at the house of a very poor, but very hospitable farmer and his wife. After sharing what little food they had the couple let the angels sleep in their bed where they could have a good night's rest. When the sun came up the next morning the angels found the farmer and his wife in tears. Their...

TEN APPLES

Author Unknown Once upon a time . . .  there was a man who had nothing . . . and God gave him ten apples.  He gave him three apples to eat.  He gave him three apples to trade for shelter from the sun and rain.  He gave him three apples to trade for clothing to wear.  He gave him one apple so that he might have something to give back to God to show his gratitude for the other nine. The man ate the three apples.  He traded three for shelter from sun and rain.  He traded three for clothing to wear.  The man looked at the tenth apple . . . and it seemed bigger and juicier than the rest.  So the man ate the tenth apple . . . and gave back to God . . . THE CORE! Might I add this, it's funny how unfaithful we are in giving back to God what He gives, be it our tithes/offerings/vows... (even our time too ) yet He is still merciful to us all. some times I wonder why we never ever get satisfied with getting/acquiring wealth and pro...
