The Miracle Of Prayer

Image
by David J. Stewart I t is disturbing to find so many people that fail to believe God answers prayer. Several top “authors” and so-called “professionals” being interviewed on TV lately, have claimed that prayer is a great therapy (as an end in itself). You never hear them mention God. It is sad that prayer has been diminished to the status of going to the park to watch the birds. Prayer is not effective because it is a good therapy. Prayer is effective because there is an omnipotent (all powerful) God up in heaven that hears and answers prayer !  I am leery of bumper sticker theology.  I see bumper stickers promoting about the "Power of Prayer," but prayer is nothing without a Powerful Divine God.  I believe in the "Power of God." Answered prayer can only happen by a miracle of God. A “Miracle” is defined in the Random House College Dictionary as “an event in the physical world that surpasses all known h...

The Power of Prayer

Our God is a Prayer answering God and He sure does Protect His own, call on Him day and night and He shall surely answer you.  . . Always Pray when you feel like it and also Pray when you don't feel  like it. Psalms 144:2 He is my loving God and my fortress, my stronghold and my deliverer, my shield, in whom I take refuge, who subdues peoples  under me. A SHORT STORY A missionary on furlough told this true story while visiting his home church in Michigan... "While serving at a small field hospital in Africa, every two weeks I traveled by bicycle through the jungle to a nearby city for supplies. This was a journey of two days and required camping overnight at the halfway point. On one of these journeys, I arrived in the city where I planned to collect money from a bank, purchase medicine and supplies, and then begin my two-day journey back to the field hospital.  Upon arrival in the city, I observed two men fighting, one of whom had been seriously injured. I treated...

Even Though . . .

Even though I clutch my blanket and growl when the alarm rings, thank you, Lord, that I can hear. There are many who are deaf. Even though I keep my eyes closed against the morning light as long as possible, thank you, Lord, that I can see. Many are blind. Even though I huddle in my bed and put off rising, thank you, Lord, that I have the strength to rise. There are many who are bedridden. Even though the first hour of my day is hectic, when socks are lost, toast is burned and tempers are short, my children are so loud, thank you, Lord, for my family. There are many who are lonely. Even though our breakfast table never looks like the pictures in magazines and the menu is at times unbalanced, thank you, Lord, for the food we have. There are many who are hungry. Even though the routine of my job often is monotonous, thank you, Lord, for the opportunity to work. There are many who have no job. Even though I grumble and bemoan my fate from day to day and wish my circumstances were no...

Little Girl Slain By Father

This is so sad , yet it is also a message to us Christians that while some of us are busy with getting wealth and stuff , Others are dying daily  through the serious "persecution business" working/thriving in certain regions of the Earth today. This is a sad  News report  coming out of Saudi Arabia . . . John August 14th, 2008 Christian , Muslim , Persecution , Saudi Arabia Israel Today reports that a young girl in Saudi Arabia was brutally executed by her Muslim father this week after he learned his daughter had converted to Christianity. Middle East business news website Zawya.com reported that the man, who is a prominent member of a “virtue committee,” first cut out his daughter’s tongue and held a one-sided religious debate with her. He then burned his daughter alive. Observant Muslims hold that their Prophet Mohammed taught that Muslims who convert to any other religion must be killed, often in extremely brutal fashion. THINK ON THIS Matthew 10:28-42 28...

I Am Grateful Oh Lord!!!

Image
“Thou art my hiding place and my shield: I hope in thy word.” ( Psalm 119:114 )  To God be the Glory, Great things He has done!!! My Praise Goes to Jesus my Savior for keeping and preserving my life for yet another full Year  today ( it's my birthday . . . yeah, am  a year older) Praise God!!! Am glad  the Holy Spirit did not leave me to be devoured by my enemies. I therefore say to my Father . . .  Oh Lord God Almighty, I am exceedingly grateful for all you have done for me and my family/friends /all my endeavors this past year. I know Lord that , which you have begun in my life. You will be faithful to complete it in Jesus Mighty Name Amen. Looking forward to another faith-filled year in Christ Jesus. I AM GRATEFUL OH LORD!!!

Psalm 27

A psalm of David. 1 The Lord is my light and my salvation—       so why should I be afraid?    The Lord is my fortress, protecting me from danger,       so why should I tremble? 2 When evil people come to devour me,       when my enemies and foes attack me,       they will stumble and fall. 3 Though a mighty army surrounds me,       my heart will not be afraid.    Even if I am attacked,       I will remain confident. 4 The one thing I ask of the Lord—       the thing I seek most—    is to live in the house of the Lord all the days of my life,       delighting in the Lord’s perfections       and meditating in his Temple. 5 For he will conceal me there when troubles come;       he will hide me in his sanctuary. ...

Pray without Ceasing!

Image
The Scripture says in 1 Thessalonians 5:17 Pray without ceasing . By the Special Grace of God, I would love  for every child of God interested in going to Heaven first of all/  interested in living a God filled life. . .  which will in turn enable us to make the best out of life here on Earth, to pray and keep on praying and take Prayers seriously for we are in perilous times and the heart of mankind is desperately wicked especially today (if you doubt that. . .  read the news and look around you). we can talk all we want argue and show our knowledge of the Gospel over one another but without the power of Prayer we are going to be powerless Christians. Prayer changes things especially those things the meant devil meant for evil for us, God will turn around for our good through Prayers in Christ's name . We can talk a lot about Christ and everything we know about God but if you are not a Praying Christian you are not a powerful Christian and will end being "a cooked...

"Spiritual Healing is the remedy needed in the 21st century"

Image
Doctors at 5th International Medical Conference in Norway Emphasize Spiritual Healing by Teresa Neumann : May 24, 2008 : Dan Wooding - Charisma Magazine http://www.charismamag.com/cms/news/archives/051908.php "Spiritual Healing is the remedy needed in the 21st century...we need to realize that miracles are far more contagious than any disease." (Norway)—More than 200 Christian doctors and medical professionals from over 38 nations gathered in Trondheim for the 5th International Medical Conference this week and concluded that "medicine alone cannot deal with some of today's worst illnesses and that 'spiritual healing' is the remedy needed in the 21st century." Among other things, the attendants reportedly examined actual case studies of miracles that were presented by various respected doctors as well as some patients. The cases, according to a Charisma Magazine report, ranged from a man being raised from the dead to a detached retina being healed, ...

My Testimony III

My Walk With Christ Following Christ has been a reality for me, my goal is to make heaven and to make sure that others around me do so too through the Grace of Christ Jesus my Lord.  this passage I live by, without it I don't know what would have become of my faith in Christ today. Isaiah 49: 8-11,8  Thus saith the Lord, In an acceptable time have I heard thee, and in a day of salvation have I helped thee: and I will preserve thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people, to establish the earth, to cause to inherit the desolate heritages; 9  That thou mayest say to the prisoners, Go forth; to them that are in darkness, Shew yourselves. They shall feed in the ways, and their pastures shall be in all high places. 10  They shall not hunger nor thirst; neither shall the heat nor sun smite them: for he that hath mercy on them shall lead them, even by the springs of water shall he guide them. 11 And I will make all my mountains a way, and my h...

My Testimony II

Being thrown out of the House Praying to God for a Miracle was our daily job,  we were crying, pleading to God in fasting and prayers for God to intervene in our affairs so that our father would love us and let us live happily together... little did we know that Gods way out for us would be something we had dreaded for years, that made us endure those horrendous years of suffering (if only we knew we would have giving God thanks instead of crying all along not knowing God was working his purpose out.) My experience as a child could be summed up as hellish, Proverbs 14:13, 13 Laughter can conceal a heavy heart; when the laughter ends, the grief remains . coupled with the fact that I had to deal with the different women coming in and out of the house, being asked repeatedly if they were a suitable replacement for my mother or if they were suitable to be my mother was another horrendous experience, I begged God to deliver me from. My father was used to  having his way all the...

My Testimony I

By the Special Grace of God, I  hereby submit a short version of my testimony, agree or not it is true, cannot write every thing Down but I must say that Life has taught me things only God knows. . . am not in the habit of talking much about myself and so if there any thing you might want to know about me, Read and feel free to ask me any questions you wish. Godbless.  I would also like you to Read this post A  Brief  History About This Blog before you continue ... that is if you haven't already. Thanks. Ecclesiastes 1:9-11, 9 History merely repeats itself. It has all been done before. Nothing under the sun is truly new. 10 What can you point to that is new? How do you know it didn’t already exist long ago? 11 We don’t remember what happened in those former times. And in future generations, no one will remember what we are doing now. Revelations 12:11, 11 And they have defeated him because of the blood of the Lamb and because of their testimony. Introduction My...

God's Answer

I asked God to take away my pride. God said "No". It is not for me to take away, but for you to give it up. I asked God to make my handicapped child whole. God said "No". Her spirit was whole, her body was only temporary. I asked God to grant me patience. God said "No". Patience is a by-product of tribulations; it isn't granted, it is earned. I asked God to give me happiness. God said "No". I give you blessings, happiness is up to you. I asked God to spare me pain. God said "No". Suffering draws you apart from worldly cares and brings you closer to me. I asked God to make my spirit grow. God said "No". You must grow on your own, but I will prune you to make you fruitful. I asked for all things that I might enjoy life. God said "No". I will give you life so that you may enjoy all things. I ask God to help me LOVE others, as much as he loves me. God said... Ahhhh, finally you have the idea!   Godbless Cha...

Do You Love Me?

Unknown Author   Woke up this morning to watch the breaking of a new day that the lord has made. Ah the beauty of God's creation is beyond my description. As I watched, I praised God  for his beautiful work. As I sat there, I felt the lord's presence with me. He asked me, "Do you love me?" I answered, "of course, God! you are my lord and savior!" Then he asked, "if you were physically handicapped, would you still love me?" I was perplexed, I looked down upon my arms, legs and the rest of my body and wondered how many things i wouldn't be able to do, the things that I took for granted. And i answered, "it would be tough lord, but i would still love you." Then the lord said,"if you were blind, would you still love my creation?  How could i love something without being able to see it? Then i thought of  all the blind people in the world and how many of them still loved  God and his creation. So I answered,"it's hard to think o...

A Short Story

A LITTLE GIRLS PRAYERS One night I had worked hard to help a mother in the labor ward; but inspite of all we could do she died leaving us with a tiny premature baby and a crying two-year-old daughter. We would have difficulty keeping the baby alive, as we had no incubator (we had no electricity to run an incubator) and no special feeding facilities. Although we lived on the equator, nights were often chilly with treacherous drafts. One student midwife went for the box we had for such babies and the cotton wool the baby would be wrapped in. Another went to stoke up the fire and fill a hot water bottle. She came back shortly in distress to tell me that in filling the bottle, it had burst. Rubber perishes easily in tropical climates. "And it is our last hot water bottle!" she exclaimed. As in the West it is no good crying over spilled milk, so in Central Africa it might be considered no good crying over burst water bottles. They do not grow on trees, and there are no drugsto...

Jokes

We'll Be Saved There were two men shipwrecked on this island. The minute they got to the island, one of them started screaming and yelling. "We're going to die! We're going to die! There's no food! No water! We're going to die!" The second man was propped up against a palm tree and acting so calmly it drove the first man crazy. "Don't you understand?!" We're going to die!!" the first man said. "You don't understand. I make $100,000 a week," said the second man. The first man looked at him quite dumbfounded and asked, "What difference does it make? We're on an island with no food and no water! We're going to die!!!" The second man answered, "You just don't get it. I make $100,000 a week. I tithe. My pastor will find me!"   Helpful Prayer Johnny had been misbehaving and was sent to his room. After a while he emerged and informed his mother that he had thought it over and then said a pray...

Scriptures

Psalm 9 1     I will thank you, Lord, with all my heart; I will tell of all the marvelous things you have done. 2     I will be filled with joy because of you. I will sing praises to your name, O Most High. 3     My enemies turn away in retreat; they are overthrown and destroyed before you. 4     For you have judged in my favor; from your throne, you have judged with fairness. 5     You have rebuked the nations and destroyed the wicked; you have wiped out their names forever. 6     My enemies have met their doom; their cities are perpetual ruins. Even the memory of their uprooted cities is lost. 7     But the Lord reigns forever, executing judgment from his throne. 8     He will judge the world with justice and rule the nations with fairness. 9     The Lord is a shelter for the oppresse...

Prayer Points for Spiritual Growth

Message: John 3:30. For all believers who desire meaningful spiritual growth in their walk with God. There is no height you cannot attain in the spirit if only you are ready to take the bull by the horn; do away with every form of hindrance and follow the principles of spiritual growth laid down in God's word. Hebrews 5:12-14  12 You have been Christians a long time now, and you ought to be teaching others. Instead, you need someone to teach you again the basic things a beginner must learn about the Scriptures.* You are like babies who drink only milk and cannot eat solid food. 13 And a person who is living on milk isn’t very far along in the Christian life and doesn’t know much about doing what is right. 14 Solid food is for those who are mature, who have trained themselves to recognize the difference between right and wrong and then do what is right." Jesus expects each believer to grow to the level where he can teach others. In many of the Epistles, the believer is encour...

Confessions of Faith

Make these confessions to establish your identity in Christ Jesus. I am not what the world thinks or says I am. I am not what the devil or the kingdom of darkness says, imagines or has designed me to be. I am not the picture of what my idolatrous forefathers wished I should be. I am not what the unregenerate mind of any friend thinks I am. I am not what my father and mother think or want me to be. I am not what my village wickedness, household wickedness and environmental wickedness want me to be. I am not a picture of what the national economy and institutionalized wickedness has restructured the people to be. I am not what I think I am. I am what the Word of God says I am. I am an express image of Jehovah God on earth. I am fashioned after the likeness of the Creator of the heaven and earth. I am regenerated by the blood of Jesus. I am ransomed from the powers of death and hell. I am ...
