Todd Bentley's Unholy Affair!
I know some of you might not like /love me for this post , or might not even want to visit my blog after this but , am addressing this Todd Bentley issue because of the fact that God has vindicated me and all those who asked this same question about Todd Bentley and His ways. Secondly to address the erroneous feeling that I in some way, am enjoying what is happening to Todd Bentley and his Ministry. . . far from that! In fact am ashamed and sad that so - called Christians are busy deceiving others and making it difficult for real Christians to do the work of God Almighty in this day and age . . . where the devil is pulling all the stops to make sure that Christians find things difficult in this life.
The reason for my previous post was because I was baffled about his divorce and I wondered why a man who claimed to do all those mighty things suddenly, wants out of his marriage to his wife of many years . Even though as I woman of God by the Spirit of God I felt there was more to it than they were telling us, I had my suspicions of infidelity and so on but now it has been confirmed by his own ministry. . . what a pity!
Without further ado, Am using this post to tell Mr/Ms Anonymous that has been busy saying all sorts of things on this blog on my previous post . I would like for you see your Todd Bentley for yourself. Am not judging him, just stating facts like I said earlier in my previous post . He should be held accountable and I still maintain that . . . I believe his works should be checked with the Bible. I don't know why it is easier for people to lay down their lives for a mortal man than for the Gospel of Christ !
How can I be jubilant that someone's marriage is over? For those who do not know am a product of a broken home and for that alone there are consequences/burdens that we from such home or (background ) bear in life, (if you doubt it, ask any body who grew up in a broken home with strife) so my Prayer is for families to stay together and not let the devil come in and scatter it .
Read my Testimony . . . if you wish. Godbless
For those asking me if am sure about this, please read below and also go to his website Fresh Fire Ministries and see for yourself. . . please do take note of the points I have highlighted boldly on the post below. . . "very important to Christians to note these words" .

Several days ago it was announced that Todd Bentley — the controversial ‘preacher’ behind a so-called ‘revival’ in Florida — had separated from his wife.
In response, Bentley’s Fresh Fire Ministries posted the following comments on its website:
The Lord’s blessings and abundance have been so evident on the ministry during this season of intense activity and we rejoice in seeing and being able to participate in what we believe is only the beginning of a worldwide awakening. It is with considerable sadness then, that we must temper the jubilation we know you all feel with the sobering news that Todd and Shonnah Bentley are presently experiencing significant friction in their relationship and are currently separated. We want to affirm that there has been no sexual immorality on the part of either Todd or Shonnah, nor has there ever been. Undoubtedly the pressures and the burden of the Outpouring, which approaches 144 days on August 23rd, have helped to create an atmosphere of fatigue and stress that has exacerbated existing issues in their relationship. We wish to stress however, that the Outpouring is not “to blame” for the current chain of events and that in effect we have no interest in blaming anyone, but rather we deeply covet your prayers for Todd and Shonnah and for Fresh Fire Ministries during this time.

Yesterday, that message was replaced by an apology and ‘Special Prayer Request’ from Fresh Fire Ministries’ board of Directors:
We wish to thank all of our friends and partners for the overwhelming flood of support and compassion we have received as a ministry on behalf of Todd and Shonnah Bentley. The many phone calls and emails of concern from people who genuinely love the Bentleys and Fresh Fire Ministries have been a great encouragement to all of us here during these past few days. In particular, the rallying of support and prayer for Todd and Shonnah by prominent leaders within the Body of Christ has been a beautiful indicator of the maturity and grace the Lord is bringing to his Bride.
We wish to acknowledge, however, that since our last statement from the Fresh Fire Board of Directors, we have discovered new information revealing that Todd Bentley has entered into an unhealthy relationship on an emotional level with a female member of his staff. In light of this new information and in consultation with his leaders and advisors, Todd Bentley has agreed to step down from his position on the Board of Directors and to refrain from all public ministry for a season to receive counsel in his personal life.
On behalf of the Fresh Fire leadership and the Board of Directors we wish to apologize to our friends and partners and to the larger body of Christ and to ask for your forgiveness. We are truly sorry for the pain many of you must feel and so regret that in the midst of great revival, the enemy has found a way into our camp. To those who have stood by us, we wish to thank you for what in many cases has been years of support. Thank you for your financial giving towards the vision of this ministry, and thank you especially for your prayers. For those of our partners, friends and supporters who may be struggling with the recent disclosures and finding continued support of this ministry in conflict with either conscience or conviction, we release and bless you with all our hearts and trust that God will redeem in your hearts the good that He has accomplished in your lives through this ministry. It is our sincerest hope and prayer that the Lord bless you and bring you into your fullest destiny in Him.

Infact am so disappointed!!! I don't know if I should ask more questions?
1. If Todd has been having an affair while on the program whose anointing was he under?
2. Are we sure the Ministry was not aware before hand that his marriage was on the rocks and yet they sat on it.
3. What measures are they taking to make sure He does not eventually divorce his wife and marry the new lady?
4. Do these people practice what they preach?
5. I ask, Why would a pastor "Married or not" be having an unholy relationship at all?
6. Also when they say "unholy Relationship" do they want to say , adultery or what?
Well God knows Who and What we are. . . Finish and klaar!
THINK ON THIS
Matthew 7:21-23,21"Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22Many will say to me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?' 23Then I will tell them plainly, 'I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!'
Godbless
My Husband and I choose to Bless Todd and Shonna Bently, Fresh Fire ministries. May they be restored and recover quickly. May God get the glory.

Frankly, how can one trust any counseling from Bentley's organization in the first place? This is the same group in bed (please pardon the expression) with sensuality over scripture.
ReplyDeleteIt is not judging when we as Christians decide to discern. Why is this such a difficult concept for so many to understand. And because so many Christians have none...they are smearing the name of Jesus, without any help from the enemy.
ReplyDeleteDear Sister,
ReplyDeleteI see you questions as being valid. This man has professed "holiness" while carrying on an "unholy relationship". Those who do not wonder about his confession/profession are not those who hunger after God, and holiness and eternal life. The reason for his fall is pride:
Proverbs 16:18
Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.
Peace
Yes, Todd Bentley has evidently done some things wrong - in fact, from what I hear he's probably committed sin. Well, what else is new? So have you. The Bible says that we've all sinned and come short of the glory of God. And I remember reading very vividly when one day our Lord Jesus looked at a bunch of religious hypocrites and said, "You who have committed no sin, let him cast the first stone."
ReplyDeleteSo, yes, we've all sinned, but if you can point at Todd Bentley and cast the first stone, you have a payday coming some day dear deceived one. I doubt very seriously if you even have a clue as to what a Christian really is.
Dear Hanna,
ReplyDeleteWhat Todd has done is absolutely wrong. But to ask whose anointing he was under is a ridiculous question.
Anointing is a gift. One can walk in the anointing of the Holy Spirit and still not be living right. A person can start off right and fall away on the way.
King Saul started off well, and God poured out His Spirit upon him and he prophesied. However, we read the when Saul disobeyed the Lord, the Presence of the Lord withdrew, however, he was still able to prophesy. Why? because God's gifts and callings are irrevocable (Romans 11:29).
This is why Jesus said people would come to him saying, "Did we not prophesy in your name? Did we not cast out demons in your name" and Jesus said He'd say "I do not know you". Not because the anointing was false, but because they bore not fruit.
It's very sad, hanna, that ministers have compromised on holiness. If there's anything that is needed today, it is holiness unto the Lord.
Sid
I have absolutely no doubts about sincerity of your concerns, nor your intentions. For I have come to know you fairly well, and it is just not in you to delight over someone else's failures. Please do not let the responses of those who do not know you as well to get you down, my dear Hannah IJ.
ReplyDeleteThe difficulties of one man and one family are significant to those people and we need to keep them in prayer.
ReplyDeleteMy concern is how easy it is for the Christian Church to flock to a diseased 'outpouring'. This shows a weakness in the body that will be harmful to many in the end days.
Thank you for the well balanced blog.
It amazes me that some people seem to be willing to close teir eyes to anything in search for a good experience. If this is not a wakeup call, nothing will be. I believe we all need to focus and trust in god, and not put too much faith in "great men of God".
ReplyDeleteTodd Bentley has all the symptoms and signs of false prophet and a fake preacher....by their fruits ye shall know them. You do not need any prophet to reveal more of the falsehood of this tattoo laced false prophet. Todd knows he's so fake that he can't keep deceiving his temporal followers for long......he shall be exposed and be disgraced like all other evil preachers.
ReplyDeleteyou mention unholy relationship.. ..maybe you should get off yor moral high horse and let Todd pray for your eye sight, unhealthy is definately different from unholy. maybe if all you people put as much time into praying for this family instead of gossiping on the net you would experience a mighty move of God in your own life and ministries
ReplyDeleteshame on you all!
As a woman who is still healing from a divorce caused by adultrey, this revelation left me with just one question...can any man be trusted? I was just begining to think that a good, Godly man would be true to his wife and faithful, but I guess not. I am so sad for what his wife it going through.
ReplyDeleteDecieved by a pathological liar.
ReplyDeletehttp://www.charismamag.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=3218
Todd Bentley's moral failure was publically exposed this week. There is more that has come forth from young women and pastors from his home town and around the world, so more information should be forthcoming, unfortunately. We have tried to be wise in our reporting, as we felt compelled to report because so many questions were being asked and so many were being influenced by wrongful doctrine and untruthful claims. Many leaders have been deceived and so we know the deception was very powerful, even though many of us were wondering how so many had been caught up in it.
If you have talked to the people who have been hurt by this violence and abuse, you would understand the frustration from many of us. When we questioned staff members, and former staff members about Todd, many used the same words to describe him, Pathological Liar". These lies in the guise of ministry and Todd's behind the scenes lifestyle made it difficult for his board and others to discern. I have gotten emails wondering if I am happy now that Todd has been caught in an affair, (see message from Todd's board). We are not happy about this, it has been sickening and impacts us all. I am saddened for him, for his family, for the other woman, and for all of those who have been hurt through this process and Todd's lifestyle. I pray for repentance, I pray for mercy, I pray for reconciliation and I pray for total exposure so that Todd can finally get the deliverance and healing he needs. This did not happen 3 years ago, and this led to this sad moment.
Good questions at the end of your blog! Todd Bentley showed his true colors. It isn't something for anyone to rejoice about, no one deserves to be cheated on. But who can ignore this and continue to look up to this man?
ReplyDeleteI will simply say this, we all sin and fall short of the glory of God." Todd Bentley or any other human being is perfect. What it all boils down to is that he (Todd) is going to have to stand in front of God one day as we all will. God is the ultimate judge of us all. God bless everyone.
ReplyDeleteWhat i know is, a sinner will not go unpunished. All he did was a calculated means of making money from innocent souls who love the Lord with their whole heart. We still have people like him all over, he is not the first, neither is he going to be the last.Others like him will spring up,as a good child of God, we must know the truth so that we won't be ensnared by their lies and hypocrisy.Talking about it is good, the problem with us xtians is that we like to cover up things, so we won't be seen as gossips.Let me remind anonymous that this is in no way a GOSSIP,talking about it free minds of bitterness and anger,IF HE HAD BEEN A TRUE CHILD OF GOD,WE WILL NOT BE HERE TALKING ABOUT THIS.LET US REMEMBER HIM IN OUR PRAYERS,ESPECIALLY IN THIS TRYING TIMES.
ReplyDeleteChannel of Healing,
ReplyDeleteI am sorry that you have gotten several negative comments but you are right to question Todd Bentley.
This is in answer to some of the complaints you have received, if it is too long feel free to delete it, my feelings won’t be hurt.
We are to be Berean and compare everything to the Scriptures.
Christians are called to judge - that may be a revelation to some people.
1 Cor 5:12-13
12 For what have I to do to judge them also that are without? do not ye judge them that are within?
13 But them that are without God judgeth. Therefore put away from among yourselves that wicked person. KJV
We as Christians are commanded to judge those who claim to be Christians and are within the church.
1 Cor 10:15 I speak as to wise men; judge ye what I say. KJV
We are to judge what a person says according to scripture.
John 7:24 Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment. KJV
We are to judge with righteous judgment.
Matt 7:15-20
15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?
17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.
18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
19 Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. KJV
We will know the false prophets by their fruits, whether they be good or bad. Fruit is not the number of people who come to the “Shows” but it is the number of truly converted Christians who live godly lives of righteousness covered by the shed blood of Jesus. That will remain to be seen how many of Todd’s “converts” actually continue in the faith.
Matt 24:11-12
11 And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.
12 And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. KJV
We are warned that there will be many false prophets.
Matt 24:24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. KJV
We are also told that many false prophets will do signs and wonders.
Ex 7:11 Then Pharaoh also called the wise men and the sorcerers: now the magicians of Egypt, they also did in like manner with their enchantments. KJV
They did the same signs and wonders as Moses and Aaron. Just because someone appears to do signs and wonders (healings) does not mean they are blessed by God (although nothing happens without God’s full consent). Satan and his demons can oppress a person and cause illness and lameness and then leave a person for a time in order to appear as a healing, but beware. The healing won’t last and the final state will be worse.
Matt 12:43-45
43 "When an evil spirit comes out of a man, it goes through arid places seeking rest and does not find it. 44 Then it says, 'I will return to the house I left.' When it arrives, it finds the house unoccupied, swept clean and put in order. 45 Then it goes and takes with it seven other spirits more wicked than itself, and they go in and live there. And the final condition of that man is worse than the first. That is how it will be with this wicked generation." NIV
I have no problem denouncing Todd Bentley’s “ministry” as false and Satanic.
He did not preach the Scriptures.
He did not live a separate and Holy life.
He was violent. (see Galatians 5:22)
He drew the attention to himself and his “ministry” as opposed to lifting high the Lord Jesus Christ as the object of worship.
Gal 5:22-23
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. KJV
I could go on and on but until they read the Scriptures, those that believe in the false prophets like Todd Bentley will never be able to believe in the True Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Berean Wife

ReplyDeleteGodbless
Too all who feel so confidently that you KNOW all regarding Todd Bentley.
ReplyDeleteI agree that what he did was wrong, wrong wrong.
I agree that it is a pitiful shame that once again Christianity is a laughing stock to the unbelievers and many new converts are now dazed and confused... This is horrible and very sad indeed.
No one and nothing can pluck those out that have been placed in His hand. so the new converts will remain.
God is all powerful you know...
What I have the most trouble with is the veracity and speed that the so called body attacks when one has been 'found in a fault'. God help YOU!! I do not see or feel your attention to this issue is in a spirit of love and retstoration. But of boney finger pointing and condemnation! God can handle Todd and whatever the intents of his heart. How dare you say you know the intent of Todd's heart! The Holy Ghost is the only One who can KNOW the intents of the human heart. sure, judge the fruit, he did do wrong, but the why of it? Can you stand before God right now and say for 100% surety that "Yes, I KNOW that Todd Bentley's heart is evil and he did with intention deceive many." you better pray that Jesus doesn't say to you, 'Depart from me doers of iniquity...'
We all need to check out own motives and intents out and figure out why we flock to blog and 'discuss and share our feelings'. Is it a cover for engaging our flesh in some juicy gossip? Is it a chance to pump up how holy we are compared to someone else?
Oh, Dear Jesus, please help us to correct and forgive and restore in Your love... Clean us up, wash our hearts, drench us in your love so that we can show the world that your blood has indeed paid for it all! this is no surpise to Jesus. He knew it was gonna happen when he STILL gave Himself for us all.
I'm not lessening the impact of Todd's fall but it's out in the open now. so what's next? He's submitting himself to personal counsel. We don't need to regurgitate it until the stench of our malicious words further scare and draw negative attention to a painful and regretful situation.
Read your bible. Look at David. God called him. He answered. But yet he did wrong. David repented. God dealt with it. God restored David.
Do y'all think anyone was really, truly healed in the Florida outpouring?
Do you think people just made up stories and called in from around the world to lie?
I've been forgiven MUCH!! When I was found in a fault, I confessed my wrong doing and because I was condemned from the pulpit by a well meaning pastor and congreation who thought they were 'judging' my wrong doing... I was so over wrought with guilt and anguish that I felt unworthy of anything good and was too accepting of the mean looks and sarcastic remarks. God, Himself ministered to me because there was not one in my church home that would. Over time He led me to others that could help me understand why I got involved in that mistake and I got the help, forgiveness and love that I needed to heal and be restored in such a way that I got delivered from mindsets and the behaviors that go with them because some people took a deeper look than my sin to see what were the underlying issues that was the seed bed for my sin.
God knew that my intent was not to sin or hurt anyone but I had some stuff that needed to be dealt with and when it was, dealt with in a godly manner. The sin issue was destroyed forever. that sin (along with some other related sins) is no longer even an attraction for me.
If God Himself didn't ntervene, I think I would have committed suicide or self destructed as a result of the bitter and condemning spirit of the church. After I left that church, many who were the finger pointers have fallen into numerous and worse sin situations than I and I sincerely prayed for their deliverance and forgiveness.
Please be careful that you attempt to address sin in the body appropriately but not without humilty and compassion lest you fall yourself. Don't think the devil doesn't have your number... We all have secret issues and weaknesses.
By THIS shall all men know my disciples, that you have LOVE one for another...
Hey,
ReplyDeleteI can't help but have concerns on both sides here. I don't like a lot of charismatic methodology or teaching. Neither do I like a bunch of blogging with people who are removed from the events they are criticizing. Throwing loads of scripture out there does not prove Bentley was a false prophet. We're still begging the question here. If he's false, then so is Charles Stanley. King David. Job. John Wesley. All of these men either had marital troubles or divorce. john W. left home to preach to stay away from his wife. And the comment on Bentley's tattoos is ridiculous. I see a lot of people here who are sure that they have the superior position, and will use scripture to prove it. I see a nearly giddy atitude at Bentley's failings, as if that proves the previously held opinions that Bentley is a false prophet. I don't agree with the man on a lot of things, but his divorce does not prove that he's a false prophet. Neither does an affair. And I don't agree with either action here. But I don't live in his shoes. Or his wife's shoes. No one here knows what has gone on in his marriage, but everyone wants to throw stones from very high horses in the living rooms of glass houses. I can't believe that there is so much venom masquerading as righteousness in the body of Christ. The tone of superiority on parts of this blog and others is as sinful as Bentley's behavior. Yet more than likely, like other blogs I've read and seen, this will continue in the name of "sounding the alarm," "taking a stand for Truth," defending the precious gospel," etc, or any such other high minded motivations that gossip has disguised itself with here and in other parts of the body of Christ. This is wrong. I see comments here in which some are convinced that they've seen the deeply held reasons for Todd's fall. His reasons are and would be the same as yours and mine. None of us are any different from Bentley. Not at all. Some of you might personally dislike Todd and what he teaches, but we are all wrong when we attempt to use scripture to discredit another christian. I've seen a lot of that when it comes to others "discussing" Todd's marriage meltdown.
And I want to say again, we are all observing from afar. And our words will come back to haunt us. I don't for one second believe that the critical comments of Todd's failing come from a heart of Love here. Not for one second. I'm weary of the church telling about someone's sins in the name of "love." There are people dealing with it. We need to let them and then we need to shut up. We can show Todd and his wife some grace and still
know that stuff is wrong and has gone horribly wrong.
But I don't see much of that anywhere. It usually seems to only exist superficially at best in the body of Christ. The Body of Christ right now is a messed up , broken, often deluded bunch of people. And we don't have a clue. We aren't much of a witness to the world, and the criticism of Bentley is symptomatic of why. We don't know a damn thing about restoration, mercy, forgiveness, or grace. But we sure do love to talk about it as we skewer a brother in Christ, question his salvation,( who has the authority to do that),and mock his appearance with a mouth full of venom. We don't give it to fallen brothers and sisters. If we did, our churches would be full of repentant prostitutes and crackheads. They want to come home, but we make it hard on all of them. We are the reason why the lost man won't come to church. We are. And we are wrong to have made it so hard for the world to see the Light. It's not Todd who's shaming Christ right now. The world recognizes that sin. They all live in it. They feel like they have a brother who understands what they've been through now. They look at the rest of us and laugh. Because we are the first ones to pull out the big gun( scripture) and cut another saint to shreds. Congrats! Welcome to the Body of Christ! Jesus loves you, but as long as He does, we don't have to! Get a tattoo, and you are blogger fodder! Sinners would come home if they could find freedom from sin. We have as much sin as the rest of the world. And those of us who pride ourselves in not having sexual sin in our lives are guilty of just that...having pride. Damn thing gets you no matter where you turn. And many of you are more concerned that I said "Damn" twice in this email than you are that some of your comments reflect the sickness in the Church today. And are symptomatic of it. And I don't believe that any individual here who has been critical of Bentley will deal with this. You will all wrap your cloak of high minded "righteousness" around yourselves, and find other stones to throw at me. I recognize a pharisee when I see one. I used to be one. Be on the receiving end of the church's stones and your tone will change. A lot. Don't kid yourselves. Discussing Todd and his failings is not furthering the Kingdom. Neither is it taking a stand for anything other than one's own deeply held and inflated sense of value and an overestimation of contributions to the already sick body of Christ. Get over it people. Todd may have sinned. Maybe his wife did. Maybe she neglected him. Anyone thought of that? All we've heard about is Todd. Again, I know what it's like to be on the receiving end of a one sided attack from the members of the Body of Christ who are supposed to know something of love, and don't. They are murderous. This blog and the others should shut down discussions of Todd. This whole thing is wrong. And sick.
